Maria's Little Elbows (Temari 74)
This is a complex 10 division that results in a series of pentagons, triangles, and diamonds being created with marking threads. Using these shapes as guidelines, I embroidered a variation of a bishamon pattern - tri-leg motifs interwoven with one another. This temari is an all-over design - the surface of the ball (mari) is completely covered by embroidery.
Size: approx. 4.5" diameter
Materials: Rice husks, fiberfill, yarn, sewing thread, embroidery thread
Named after the song “Maria’s Little Elbows” by Sparklehorse.
