Merman (Temari 97)
This is a simple 4 division that results in the temari being divided into 4 segments. Layers of embroidery in blue and gold threads are interwoven using Jyouge Douji and Koussa Kagari techniques and gathered in four bundles, revealing the dusky purple mari thread layer beneath. Metallic threads around the center of the ball (obi) complete the design.
Size: approx. 4.2" diameter
Materials: Rice husks, fiberfill, yarn, sewing thread, embroidery thread
Named after the song “Merman” by Tori Amos.
