Bluetime (Temari 96)
This is a complex 8 division that results in a complex grid of squares, triangles, and diamonds being created with marking threads. Above these I embroidered alternating bands of blue threads using the kousa kagari technique. Bands of ivory thread compete the design, highlighting the diamond motifs. This temari is an all-over design, where the surface of the ball (mari) is completely covered by embroidery.
Size: approx. 4.8" diameter
Materials: Rice husks, fiberfill, yarn, sewing thread, embroidery thread, rattle
Named after the song “Bluetime” by Say Hi (to Your Mom).
