A Thousand Hours (Temari 83)
This is a complex multi-face division that results in an elaborate series of hexagons and pentagons being created with marking threads. Above these I embroidered bands of rich shades of orange interwoven with contrasting grey striped bands. This temari is an all-over design - the surface of the ball (mari) is completely covered by embroidery.
Size: approx. 5.2" diameter
Materials: Rice husks, fiberfill, yarn, sewing thread, embroidery thread, rattle
Named after the song “A Thousand Hours” by The Cure.
